Cardiologist Turned Investor Dr. Bharat Sangani Launches “Happiness Platform”

Dr. Bharat Sangani entered business almost by accident. After immigrating to the U.S. and training as a cardiologist, he opened a practice along Mississippi’s Gulf Coast, where his father-in-law later started a small hotel. What began as a family side project exposed him to opportunities beyond medicine.

Today, he serves as chairman and founder of Encore Enterprises, a diversified investment firm behind more than $3.7 billion in commercial real estate and private equity transactions. His latest venture is LifeRx, an online platform focused on health, wealth, and relationships.

From Physician to Finance Exec

Sangani arrived in the U.S. from India at the age of 26 with just $10.45 in his pocket. He landed in Ohio, where he trained to be a cardiologist. As a physician treating heart attack patients, Sangani regularly handled life-or-death situations—an experience that shaped his perspective on the responsibility that comes with the job.

He helped establish the balloon angioplasty program in Gulfport, Mississippi, and specialized in aortic valvuloplasty during his time in practice. But the demands of cardiology—long hours and around-the-clock availability—prompted him to explore financial stability beyond clinical work.

What started as a side hustle turned into a major player in Dallas real estate. Today, Encore Enterprises has $1.5 billion in assets under management in an operation that spans real estate, private equity investing, and more. Its real estate holdings include retail, hospitality, medical properties, restaurants, multifamily, and more.

“Over the years, Encore’s investors have never lost capital, even through multiple market cycles,” Sangani says. “That doesn’t happen by luck. It comes from diversification, conservative underwriting, and never chasing trends just for the sake of growth.”

After building careers in both medicine and finance, Sangani launched a mentorship program in 2022 called Life is Business. He later expanded the concept with LifeRx, an online platform organized around three focus areas: health, wealth, and relationships. “Once I saw that pattern clearly, I felt compelled to share it,” he says. “LifeRx is my contribution, as my way of helping people become healthier, stronger, more connected, and ultimately happier.”

A Prescription for Happiness

Citing a decline in happiness levels among young people, LifeRx serves as a digital hub connecting experts in health, wealth, and relationships with users through educational content and resources. The platform also features a recurring HappinessScore quiz designed to help subscribers track their well-being over time.

LifeRx offers guides and tools designed to help users measure and track their well-being over time. The platform includes educational content, a marketplace of services, and options to connect with mentors and other members.

“I want people to walk away with clarity, tools, and momentum,” Sangani says. “Not just inspiration but real skills, mindset shifts, and practical steps they can apply immediately. If someone becomes healthier, more financially stable, builds stronger relationships, and feels intrinsic happiness within, then LifeRx has done its job.”
